1928 Brünn Solo Exhibition
In March 1928 György Rauscher held what was, as far as the record shows, his only solo exhibition, at the Deutsches Künstlerhaus in Brünn (Brno). Almost every work sold, and the show brought further portrait commissions (/bibliography#szamado-2019, pp. 12-13).
The exhibition
The Deutsches Künstlerhaus was the exhibition house of the German art society of Moravian Brünn. The success there, reported home in the Komáromi Lapok of 13 March 1928 (/bibliography#komaromi-lapok-1928-03-13), came months before Rauscher’s move to Berlin, and reads as the threshold to his Berlin years (see /biography/berlin-years).
A documented gap
The Brünn exhibition is well attested in the Hungarian sources, but no German-language or Czech-language Brünn press coverage of it has yet been located. The local German daily of the time was the Tagesbote, where a review may survive; anything a reader can add is welcome through /corrections.
