Printed works

In his Berlin years (1928-1930) György Rauscher worked as an illustrator for the society and art press, mainly for Scherl Verlag.

This section catalogues his printed work: approximately 25 items, comprising eleven Sport im Bild covers and eight interior images, a cover for the Munich weekly Jugend, two covers for Scherl’s Magazin, and a plate for Ullstein’s Die Dame (/bibliography#szamado-2019, p. 23). The Die Dame plate reproduces the oil Ikrek (Twins, 1927), which is catalogued among the works.

Many of the colour lithographs correspond to entries 68 to 86 of the 1935 estate catalogue, where the printed state and the original composition are recorded together; those cross-links are noted on each record.

A note on sources: the Berlin printed works are reproduced from Számadó 2019; the original periodicals are held at the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin.
