2019 Klapka György Múzeum 90th-Anniversary Programme

Around the ninetieth anniversary of György Rauscher’s death, the Komáromi Klapka György Múzeum mounted the most significant Rauscher programme of recent decades (see /klapka-muzeum).

The monograph and the exhibition

The programme’s centrepiece was the publication of Számadó Emese’s monograph, Rauscher György, az új tárgyiasság és a gáláns világ festője, in 2019 (/bibliography#szamado-2019).

A memorial exhibition followed, opening on 3 October 2020, the anniversary of the painter’s death, at the museum’s main building and running into early 2021. No separate catalogue was issued; the 2019 monograph served as the accompanying volume.

The programme produced the 2019 monograph, on which much of this archive draws.
