Színházi Élet

Színházi Élet (“Theatre Life”) was Budapest’s leading illustrated theatre and society weekly between the wars. It followed György Rauscher both as an artist and as a figure of the film-and-theatre world.

The weekly reproduced his work, including the painting Jazz-band in its 1928 number reporting the Brünn exhibition (/bibliography#szamado-2019, pp. 12-13).

It also recorded his Berlin social life: its 1928 year-end number placed him at a Berlin New Year’s Eve alongside the actress Esterházy Ágnes (/bibliography#szinhazi-elet-1928-51), the same evening documented in an Ullstein press photograph (see /biography/berlin-years).
