Not-located works

This register lists works that are securely documented under Rauscher’s name but whose current location is unknown. Listing them is standard catalogue-raisonné practice: a work can be well documented and still have an unknown owner today. Each is recorded in the catalogue of the 1935 Nemzeti Szalon estate exhibition (reproduced in full, with status, at /exhibitions/1935-nemzeti-szalon-estate); none has a surviving image known to the archive, which is why each is listed here rather than given its own page.

If you know the location of any work below, the archive would be grateful to hear from you through /corrections.

Catalogue works whose whereabouts are unknown

Numbers are those of the 1935 estate catalogue.

The nude studies (catalogue 91-118)

The catalogue’s final run, numbers 91 to 118, is a group of twenty-eight nude studies (Akt tanulmány). They are recorded together rather than as separate works. One of them is identifiable: the Akt-tanulmány (Nude Study) reproduced posthumously in Nyugat in 1931 (/bibliography#nyugat-1931).

Known only from the 1935 installation photographs

A few works survive in no independent reproduction but are visible in the photographs taken of the 1935 estate exhibition. The clearest case is Páholyban II (In the Box II, catalogue no. 59), the companion to the Magyar Nemzeti Galéria’s Páholyban I. The installation photographs may in time allow others on this register to be identified.
