Die Saison beginnt (The Season Begins) is the Sport im Bild cover of 12 October 1928 by György Rauscher.

An elegant couple walk a borzoi along a city street: a woman in a blue-green coat and cloche hat with a red scarf at her throat, and a man in a grey suit, hat, and monocle, the tall white-and-tan hound striding between them, against a stylised modern cityscape with motor traffic behind. The German title Die Saison beginnt is printed below, under the magazine’s masthead.

Számadó identifies this as the cover that won the magazine’s 1928 cover-design competition, the success that made Rauscher a permanent Scherl Verlag contributor (see /biography/berlin-years and /publications/sport-im-bild).
