Emberpár (Couple), The Yellow Iris
Emberpár (Couple), also titled A sárga írisz (The Yellow Iris), is an oil of the 1920s by György Rauscher.
A man and a woman sit outdoors among dense greenery: the woman at the left in a white dress, red-haired, with large pale eyes and white stockings; the man at the right gaunt, in a black suit over a red jersey. A yellow iris grows at the lower left, giving the work its second title. The faces are pale and wide-eyed, in the unsettling register of his New Objectivity. It is signed at the upper left.
