Fiatal pár (Young Couple)

Fiatal pár (Young Couple) is an oil of about 1926-1927 by György Rauscher.

A young man and woman stand close together against a dark wooded landscape: the man at the left in a dark suit, the woman at the right in a blue dress with red trim, both with the pale, wide-eyed faces of his New Objectivity. It is signed at the lower right.

The painting was shown at the 1935 Nemzeti Szalon estate exhibition, so it corresponds to one of that catalogue’s entries, though the specific number is not yet matched (see /exhibitions/1935-nemzeti-szalon-estate).
