Honthy Hanna portréja (Portrait of Honthy Hanna)

Honthy Hanna portréja (Portrait of Honthy Hanna) is a 1927 oil painting by György Rauscher of the operetta star Honthy Hanna. It is number 55 in the 1935 estate catalogue.

The portrait shows the actress with reddish-blonde hair and pearl earrings, her lips red, wrapped in a pink fur stole against a grey-green ground. The handling is soft and washy, the fur dissolving into the background. It is signed at the lower right.

It belongs to the portraits of the stage and theatre world that Rauscher painted in the later 1920s (see /biography/hungarian-years).
