Ikrek (Twins)
Ikrek (Twins), printed in German as Zwillinge, is a 1927 oil double-portrait by György Rauscher. It is number 12 in the 1935 estate catalogue.
Two near-identical young women’s faces fill the sheet, close together: the one at the left under a wide pale-brimmed hat, the one at the right with loose fair hair, both with shadowed eyes and red lips. The handling is soft and pale. It is signed at the lower left.
It was shown as Ikrek among the sixteen works at the 1927 Ernst Múzeum group exhibition (see /exhibitions/1927-ernst-muzeum) and reproduced in the Ullstein magazine Die Dame in August 1927.
