Kék fotelben (In a Blue Armchair), Portrait of Nándor Küttel

Kék fotelben (In a Blue Armchair) is a portrait of Nándor Küttel by György Rauscher, an oil of the 1920s.

The sitter, a grey-haired, moustached man in a pale beige suit and dark tie, sits in a blue armchair with yellow wooden arms, against a green wall with a small framed landscape at the upper left, rings on his fingers. The forms are solid and the modelling firm, in Rauscher’s New Objectivity manner. It is signed at the lower right.

It is one of the larger surviving portraits of his Hungarian years (see /biography/hungarian-years).
