Önarckép (Self-Portrait), 1924
Önarckép (Self-Portrait) is a 1924 oil by György Rauscher, held at the Slovak National Gallery (Slovenská národná galéria) in Bratislava.
The painting shows the young painter at his easel, dark-haired in a white shirt, turning to look out at the viewer, a palette before him and a bluish landscape behind. The handling is loose and painterly, from before his turn to New Objectivity. It is signed and dated 1924 at the lower left.
Because it was already in Bratislava by 1935, it does not appear in that year’s estate catalogue. The gallery records it under the Slovak form of his name, “Juraj Rauscher” (see /name-disambiguation).
