Önarckép (Self-Portrait), 1926
Önarckép (Self-Portrait) is a 1926 self-portrait by György Rauscher.
The painter stands with his arms crossed, a cigarette in one hand, in a loose white smock and trousers; a single white flower sits in a small vase on a stool at the left, and a window opens at the upper right. The forms are firm and the pose self-possessed.
In his self-portraits Rauscher tended to present himself as a man of the world rather than at his easel (see /biography/hungarian-years).
