Tanulmány (Study), 1925
Tanulmány (Study) is a 1925 work by György Rauscher, made in Paris and held at the Komáromi Klapka György Múzeum.
It is a study head of a young woman with dark bobbed hair and large dark eyes, bare-shouldered, worked in soft watercolour washes against a pale ground. It is signed and inscribed at the lower left, “1925 Paris.”
It dates from the painter’s Paris years, just before the turn to New Objectivity that defines his mature work (see /biography/training).
