Vaszkó Ödön portréja (Portrait of Ödön Vaszkó)

Vaszkó Ödön portréja (Portrait of Ödön Vaszkó) is a 1927 oil by György Rauscher of the caricaturist Vaszkó Ödön (1896-1945), who drew for the Komáromi Lapok and belonged to the painter’s circle of friends.

The portrait is head-and-shoulders: a young man with reddish hair and green eyes, a dark bow at the collar, painted warmly in ochres and reds with loose, open brushwork.

It is one of the portraits of the Komárom and Budapest artistic circle that runs through Rauscher’s Hungarian years (see /biography/hungarian-years).
